Mandala & Meditation

Serenity Series: Serenity #2

Serenity #2

  • Mandala meaning “circles” in Sanskrit, is a centuries old geometric meditative art practiced by Buddhist and Hindu traditions, a spiritual symbol representing the universe. They are viewed as a great tool to meditate and are believed to transmit positive energy to the surroundings. The symmetrical geometric patterns on a mandala help achieve focus and clarity and facilitates the effect of purification and healing.

When we are anywhere near a water body, it has a calming and destressing effect on our relentless minds. It could be the sound of running tap water, the gentle sound of water trickling down in a water fountain, the gushing sound of waterfalls, the soothing sound of  ocean waves, or the stagnant water in a lily pond, the sound of water is simply comforting. Who does not like having a “me time” in a secluded beach or taking a walk along the trail by the water streams? I feel the sense of peace in my painting, Serenity_2. Do you?
