  • ‘Asatoma Sadgamaya’ is a Shanti Mantra (Mantra of peace) taken from Brihadaranyaka Upanishads (1.3.28). Upanishads are ancient Sanskrit texts written in c. 800–200 BC that contain some of the central philosophical concepts and ideas of Hinduism.

    asato mā sadgamaya
    tamasomā jyotir gamaya
    mrityormāamritam gamaya
    Oṁ śhānti śhānti śhāntiḥ

    Meaning of the Mantra of Peace:

    From ignorance, lead me to truth;

    From darkness, lead me to light;

    From death, lead me to immortality

    Om Peace, Peace, Peace

    Mantra of Peace is also a representation of mandala filled with holy flowers.
