Egyptian Goddess, Isis
In Egyptian mythology, Isis was the most popular and enduring of all the Egyptian deities. She was known as the goddess of marriage, fertility, motherhood, a magic healer and the protector of dead. Isis was the first daughter of Geb, god of the Earth, and Nut, goddess of the Sky. She married her brother, Osiris, and conceived Horus with him. When Osiris became the first King of Earth, their brother Set immensely jealous of their powers murdered Osiris to usurp the throne; but, Isis was instrumental in the resurrection of Osiris when he was murdered by Set.
