Beyond the Horizon
My painting, Beyond the Horizon, is inspired by the works of the legendary Austrian artist, Gustav Klimt (1862 - 1918). Klimt is known for his mastery in ornamentation and decorative art, symbolisms, and the use of gold in his paintings. He is also known for his ambiguous nature of eroticsm in his works.
My painting, Beyond the Horizon brings back memories of local street festivals from my childhood. As my brother and I squiggled our way through the busy buzzling streets of India, we held our grandfather's hand so tight as we walked with him side by side. He always put a smile on our faces by buying us colorful balloons and a handful of dry roasted peanuts filled in a newspaper cone from the street vendors, which was a priceless moment for the both of us.
