Ajna: The Third-Eye Chakra
The Seven Chakras
Excerpts from the book--
A Beginner's Guide to Healing
by Heidi E. Spear
The word Ajna means to perceive.
Rooted in the space between the eyes and slightly higher than the brow line, the Third Eye Chakra supports seeing beyond the physical. Our perception is beyond our five physical senses: the grounding from Muladhara, the fluidity of Svadhistana, the power of Manipura, the openness of Anahata, and the authenticity of Visuddha. Our truth from deep within supports us with integrity and self-inquiry. It is our connection to wisdom. Being open to the possibility that there is much more out there that we do not know about, we strengthen our knowledge with study and discernment.
When our Ajna Chakra is balanced, we shine brightly and confidently by acting based on our knowledge and intuition. We make decisions that may involve risks, but we choose wisely in which ways risk is worth it.
